‘Meet The Patels’: One Man’s Quest To Find Love, The Old-School Indian Way
This has changed over the past few decades because of the dramatic advances in digital imaging technologies and computer power. One of the best examples of this was the computer artistry of Ray Downing, whose digital re-creation of Jesus based on the Shroud was documented in “The Real Face of Jesus” program that appeared on the History Channel. In the past few years, digital artists around the world have been able to render their own interpretations of how Jesus may have appeared based on the Shroud and these show up from time to time on the internet. However, throughout all those years, not one artist has attempted to create an interpretation of what Mary, Mother of Jesus looked like based on the Shroud image. Until now, that is. In July of my good friends Bill and Belenna Lauto directed me to the website of digital artist Dean Packwood in Taupo, New Zealand and shared his beautiful, photorealistic rendition of Mary, Mother of Jesus with me. Dean chose the Shroud of Turin image as the structural basis for his truly beautiful, completely digital artwork and I wanted to share it with you.

Cantwell doesn’t come across well in the Vice piece.

Rules for Casual Dating Relationship Status: Dating has taken all new types and forms in the last few years and describing what kind of dating you are into has become harder than ever. From friends with benefits, exclusively dating to open relationships, the dating world seems to be more complex than just the courtships and boyfriend-girlfriends relationships of the past. However, with this drawback comes a whole set of advantages like more options when it comes to dating styles and easier laying out of expectations for both you and the person you are dating.
One of the more popular types of dating we frequently hear about is casual dating. Casual dating is a term used to describe a sexual or non-sexual relationship wherein both parties are interested in getting to know each other through dates but without the commitment, exclusivity, pressure of taking the next step and the promises that romantic relationships usually come with. Because of the steady popularity of online dating, companies found ways to profit from and answer this need of people to connect more casually with dating or flirting apps like Tinder.
10 Words To Never Use On Your Online Dating Profile
As great as online dating can be, there is also something mentally unhealthy about the process. Unleashing attractive men into a forum where they arrange an endless stream of dates is like unleashing a little kid into a candy store and telling him he can eat whatever he wants. But when does online dating cross over from being a proactive approach to meet new people to an unhealthy obsession?

Online dating services such as Match. Indeed, most relationship counselors, including The Rules Girls, Ellen Fein and Sherrie Schneider, agree that logging on can be a great way to meet your match. Ellen Kriedman also known as Dr. Ellen says online dating is an advantage for people who are uncomfortable about meeting people in public places, or who are new to an area. Online dating services also can be a good option if you frequently travel for work or have children or other responsibilities that make going out to meet people difficult.
What’s more, you’re not confined to the area where you live. You can search the world, since you have international access via the Internet. And you can meet people without fear of commitment. Online dating services provide chat rooms that allow you to get to know someone before you exchange photos or phone numbers. In addition, most sites allow the user to place a photo along with a personal ad, and some even have audio capability so you can listen to your potential soul mate’s voice.
While this may sound a bit superficial at first, Internet dating actually takes the whole “meat market” aspect out of the dating process because it allows you to weed out the players. Choosing an Online-Dating Service With so many online dating services out there, picking one can be difficult. Ellen advises people to do their homework.
The Dangers of Online Dating
Email Internet dating has become an extremely popular way to meet people, and has indeed brought a lot of lonely folks together. But not every date turns out like an eHarmony ad. So in observance of Valentine’s Day, we consulted readers, friends, a few experts, and a number of sites notably Craigslist Personals to gather the funniest, strangest, and most horrific online dating stories we could find. Lonely people, broken hearts, false claims, dashed expectations, doctored photos, bailouts, and no-shows–it’s all part of the online dating experience, and we unearthed a little of everything.
Online dating can produce some of the worst dates ever. The last guy I went out with brought a sock puppet–a sock puppet–on our date and tried to talk to me with it.
A dark comedy about a sexual health nurse with a fear of casual sex consequences who decides to get back in the game by dating online.
Dating is no exception: Swiped takes a look at how apps like Tinder and Grindr, Bumble, Hinge and others are changing how and why we hook up. In locations ranging from New York to Southern California, Austin TX, and small Midwestern towns, the filmmakers interview mostly college kids and people just out of college to talk about how even a simple thing like meeting over coffee or a drink has been rendered obsolete by the virtual buffet of potential dates these apps offer.
Also interviewed is one of the co-founders of Tinder, the co-founder of Bumble, and the co-founder of Hinge. Probably whatever the last documentary that described our society as going to hell in a handbasket because of how people date. Swiped is the first directorial effort from journalist Nancy Jo Sales, and we can see the journalistic approach she takes in this documentary. She tries to cover as much ground as she possibly can in the minute runtime, and only scratches the surface on any one issue.

Rize will lift your mind and move your spirit 22 June by IamMovieLover — See all my reviews Tonight I ended up unexpectedly seeing the advance screening of “Rize” today. When this movie opens on June 24, stop everything and see it at your first opportunity. It is an eye-popping, total delight. David LaChappel has accomplished a cinematic triumph in filming the true story of the rise of a phenomenal new dance style. The movie is not what you would typically expect. The main characters let you know right away that they have no intention of succumbing to the exploitive commercialization of hip hop with it’s guns, violence and persistent misogyny.
The filmmaker avoided that tired approach too. Instead, these amazing young people have invented a way to transform their grief, anger and fears into a vibrant new art form that will make your spirit thump to the beat. They are over-comers who have decided to move beyond surviving to brilliantly thriving against the dire odds of South Central LA. You will love this story. You will respect these people. You will rave over David LaChappel’s stunning, original and immensely entertaining film. But hey, don’t take my word for it.
Go and see Rize for yourself.

There are many variations of online dating scams originating in Russia and Eastern Europe but they have in common a high emotional and financial cost to unsuspecting scam victims. Typically, a man comes into contact with a scammer through an online dating agency. The General Scam Pattern In the first few letters the scammer will say what a good woman she is and how hard life is in Russia. Her monthly salary is only a few hundred dollars, all Russian men are drunks and maybe her family died in a tragic accident or they are ill and in need of surgery.
Heart strings are pulled and victims are sucked in. At this point she will set the victim up as her knight in shining armor, the only one who can help her. She might just need money to pay her bills but will probably want desperately to come and visit him in his Western nation. She professes her love and gives instructions to send money through Western Union or MoneyGram.
This is a broad example of Russian online dating scams. The period from first contact to first cash request could be a few days or a few months but regardless how long you’ve “known” the person, a request for money is a scam. Scammers operate from countries with low per capita income and even if a scam takes months to pay out it is worthwhile for them, even for just a few hundred dollars.
